My Approach
I love holding space for people to feel into the beauty and tragedy of life. It’s from this place that we can begin to understand the true needs of the body, mind, and heart. Together, we turn toward those needs with curiosity and empathy—building more care, meaning, and possibility into our lives.
I’m a Gestalt Therapist with over 15 years of experience teaching mindfulness and somatic embodiment practices, including yoga, breathwork, and meditation. Both personally and professionally, I’ve seen the transformative power of tuning into the body’s wisdom and exploring what arises in the therapeutic process.
I work with adults, couples, and teenagers (16+) in both virtual and in-person sessions. My practice supports people navigating:
Emotional and mental health concerns
→ anxiety and panic
→ overwhelm and stress
→ depression
→ numbness or dissociation
→ burnout and exhaustion
→ neuroaffirming ADHD support
Life transitions and identity exploration
→ gender and sexual identity questions
→ fertility struggles
→ prenatal and postpartum experiences
→ grief and loss
→ significant life changes
→ feeling stuck or lost
Relationship and self-worth challenges
→ relationship struggles (including couples therapy)
→ body image issues
→ low self-esteem and harsh inner critics
→ regret and unresolved emotions
→ trauma, both recent and historical
In our work together, there’s space for you to slow down, listen inwardly, and begin to untangle what’s been holding you back—so you can move toward a more connected and vital experience of yourself and your life.

About me
Christi-an Slomka (she/her)
Registered Psychotherapist
I’m a queer mama who walks life's winding path with an open heart, a sense of humour and a commitment to working towards a kinder and more just world.
I supported thousands of people in their mental health journeys as a community educator with Calm (2017-2022).
As the director at Kula Yoga Annex in downtown Toronto (2009-14), I’m proud of the work I did with studio manager, jamilah malika abu-bakare to lead change in the wider yoga community. During a time when there was significant resistance to conversations around anti-oppression and cultural appropriation, we co-created a more inclusive, accessible and trauma-informed space.
Personally, I have benefitted greatly from both my mindfulness practices and going to therapy. Professionally, I consider it an honor to support others on their unique path of healing and self-discovery.

Land Acknowledgment
I live and work within the Haldimand Tract in Kitchener, Ontario. Affirmed in 1784, the Haldimand Proclamation reserves six miles on either side of the Grand River from the river’s mouth to its source to be enjoyed by Six Nations and their descendants forever. Today, Six Nations of the Grand River lands comprise less than 5% of what was originally granted. I stand in solidarity with the Haudenosaunee as they call for an end to the exploitation of their territory without their consent.

Walk & Talk Phone Therapy is a gentle, spacious alternative to traditional in-person or virtual sessions. It takes place over the phone—while you walk. That might mean a quiet forest path, a familiar route through your neighbourhood, or simply moving around your home.
There’s no video. No eye contact. No need to sit still.
Just your voice, your breath, your body—and our conversation.
This format can be especially supportive for those who:
• Feel more grounded or open while moving
• Prefer less visual or face-to-face intensity
• Benefit from the natural regulation of walking and fresh air
•Are sitting too much during the day or feeling burnt out by video calls
Some clients find that walking while talking allows thoughts and feelings to flow more easily—like the therapy is moving alongside them.
